Side Liner opens this episode with another great track

There’s plenty of new music discoveries for you in this one-hour episode. We’re going to start off with a track from a new Side Liner release on Cosmicleaf. He’s compiled and remixed another esteemed chillout artist, Jens Buchert in a new compilation called “Discovering Jens Buchert.” You might recall a previous Side Liner release (“Discovering Lemongrass Music”) that was equally as delicious.

Then there’s plenty more: aurally enticing tracks from artists in Lithuania, Germany, Colombia, Belarus, UK, France, Gambia, USA, Mexico, and Russia. Be sure to take notes: you’ll want to hear more from all of them. And we wrap things up with a lovely new downtempo track from our friends at SINE Music in Germany– in this case, a collaboration between Klangstein and Sine. Enjoy!

Tracklist:

Special interview episode: Artemis (with Divasonic)

Special interview with Artemis (and Divasonic)

uploaded 21 November 2010

> download .m4a file

SF Bay Area musicians Artemis & Divasonic talk about their collaboration

Well-known vocalists and chillout artists Artemis and Divasonic recently collaborated on a new release called “Truth,” which released in November, 2010 on RTFM Records. In this interview, they talk about this release, their collaboration together, and the different artists who remixed the track.

Artemis — whose earlier albums could be described as “dreamy downtempo” — also reflects about her beginnings as a singer and musician and about independent music in general.

Divasonic, who was interviewed in a 2009 podcast, is a songwriter, musician, performer, and producer whose style has evolved from a more ambient sound (in her earlier albums) to a more driving, aggressive style in her recent work, as seen in her most recent collaboration with producer Jaswho?, “Push.” In addition, working with Celeste Lear, she compiles the Digital Bliss compilations, which feature women electronica artists.

Included in this episode are samples of the original Truth mix, plus remixes from Tyler Stone and miKroNaught. After December 3, 2010, you can buy “Truth” online from iTunes, Amazon, Magnatune, and CD Baby.

Here’s the official “Truth” video (as discussed in the interview):
